Flamenco Festival Sessions: Percussion Masterclass
About this Event
And on the last Sunday of Flamenco Festival… we’re going out LOUD! Join an energetic percussion masterclass with Roberto Jaén, Cadiz-born flamenco percussionist and palmero, known for his deep understanding of compás and his precise, powerful cajón playing. A regular collaborator with the María Moreno company, he is part of a new generation of flamenco musicians bringing both tradition and freshness to the stage.
This workshop focuses on flamenco rhythm (compás) and cajón, working through essential palmas (handclapping) (the heartbeat of flamenco) as well as cajón technique, rhythmic structures, and practical tools to improve your playing.
The class is open level, with variations offered throughout so everyone can take part: more advanced rhythmic options for experienced players, and accessible versions for beginners.
A fun, hands-on session to end the festival learning from one of the best musicians, and the best way to say see you later to the Flamenco Festival until next year.
