Fish with a ranger and check out our 1620-foot pier!
Whether you've never fished or you're an experienced angler, Goose Island's pier has enough room for everyone! No tackle? No problem! We'll have fishing poles available through the Tackle Loaner Program on a first-come, first-served basis (limited supply). Stop by any time during the time listed. All ages and abilities welcome!
Bring: Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses), water, and your own bait and tackle if you have it. We will have FishBites (artificial bait) available. Dress for the weather.
Optional: bring a chair if you don't want to stand the whole time.
Where: Fishing Pier
Parking: Parking is available at the pier.
Accessibility: Accessible parking is located at the pier. Email Ranger Sara with any accessibility questions.
FYI:
-Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
-Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
-Large groups please contact Sara Rock for a private event.
-Program may be canceled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
