First Take 40 ; Unleash the Archive

First Take are gunna be 40! And we want to archieve all our films, rediscover and protect our back catalogue, which is old, dusty and tape based but full of precious gems and stories from across the Liverpool City Region. We are making a bid to Heritage Lottery and need you to help us!

Screenings of films old and new , including sections on:

First Take ... Protest - 12:30 - 13:30

Films we have protested in featuring clips from Big Society, Pink Past and Present trailer and Enough Rope short film.

First Take ... Partnerships - 14:30 - 15:30

Films we have made our amazing partners; Pagoda Arts, East Ward Primary school and BEBOP, Fittings multimedia and the trailer for Unlimited house of Krip doumentary and The Accessible making of Edmund , Wirral Harm Outside the Home short dramas and Milapfest dance piece.

First Take ... Communities - 16:00 - 17:30

This section will highlight recent work from the LGBTQIA+ community from our REEL QUEER project ; Saccharine short film, How to Remove Difficult Stains short, and Wings short alongside some micro docs. We will also be showing films from our REEL RECOVERY programme The Tables Turn short, A Time for Living and A Stitch in Time. And end on films created on our DISTINCT VOICES: DIVERSE LIVES programme.

First Take ... Feature - 18:00 - 19:30

We will be showing our feature film 1 in 200 ; when a pilot project is rolled out to help the homeless living on the streets in Liverpool, desperately people sign up, beleiving there could be a better future. But should they trust a system that has already let them down so many times?

With time inbetween to chat, catch up, have food and network with other filmmakers!
