About this Event

The University of Liverpool's Middle East and North Africa research network invites you to join filmmaker Jihan K. for a discussion of her powerful documentary, My Father and Qaddafi, exploring family and historical memory, and the lasting impact of colonialism and dictatorship in Libya. The discussion will be led by Dr Samar Abdel Rahman (Lecturer in World Cinema) and introduced by Dr Barbara Spadaro (Lecturer in Italian History and Culture). The event follows the student-led screening of the film in collaboration with the Liverpool Arab Arts Festival.

The event will take place in the Language Lounge (department of Languages, Cultures and Film). Students, staff, and members of the public welcome. Attendance is free but registration is required. Registration will close on Friday 17 July or when capacity is reached.
