About this Event
First Day Hike: The Land and Its People
Join Malibu Creek Docent Karen for “The Land and Its People,” a guided walk that explores the rich human history of this landscape — from the Indigenous people of ta’lopop, to Spanish explorers, early homesteaders, members of the Crags Country Club, and the directors and actors who worked here during the 20th-century Fox Studio era, all the way to its protection as a California State Park.
This 2-mile walk begins at the main trailhead and ends at the Visitor Center. From there, you’re welcome to continue exploring on your own or return to your car at your own pace. The route features little to no elevation gain and is suitable for most visitors.
Wear layers and closed toe shoes. Bring water. We recommend you bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the visitor center at the end of the walk.
Rain cancels. No pets.
