It is with great excitement that we invite you to “Empower with IDRF”, the India Development and Relief Fund’s inaugural fundraising gala, taking place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Marriott Washingtonian Center Rio in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA.Founded in 1988 by Dr. Vinod Prakash, a retired World Bank economist, IDRF (www.idrf.org), a DMV-based non-profit, has proudly invested over $63 million in grassroots initiatives that uplift marginalized communities across India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Our mission focuses on promoting sustainable socio-economic development through education, skill development, and empowerment.
This gala marks a special milestone—bringing together philanthropists, business leaders, and changemakers to raise vital funds for programs that support young girls and women through education and vocational training.
We’re honored to welcome Emmy Award-winning journalist Allison Seymour as our Emcee for the evening. Guests will also enjoy soul-stirring performances by the Indian-Fusion band and Bhangara to celebrate cultural vibrancy.
