About this Event

What to expect: Join mycologist Darling Ngoh from Hikes of Georgia and learn about the fascinating and wild world of fungi. The workshop will include an educational presentation as well as a walk about and forage in the forest to identify mushrooms.

We will gather for a brief informational presentation before setting off in search of a wide range of diverse mushrooms to be found throughout the Farm's forest.

Program leader: Your guide will be Ranger Darling Ngoh from Hikes of Georgia.

Where to meet: Find Ranger Darling in the green pavilion at the back of the parking lot. When you enter the park, turn right then go all the way to the field and park. (1185 Rock Chapel Rd.)

What to bring: Wear comfortable footwear that you don't mind getting dirty, dress for the weather, and bring a refillable water bottle. Please feel free to bring a collection basket or bag if you have one. We will have some paper bags as well as sunscreen and bug spray on site.

Restrooms: There is a portapotty in the parking lot available for use (professionally cleaned twice a week).

Recommended ages: This program content is designed for adults and teens, but all ages are welcome.

Dogs: This program is NOT appropriate for dogs, so please leave your pup at home.

Weather contingency: This program will be held rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs (RPCA).
