Story Time at the Farm with Ms. Brittany

What to expect: Come for this special story time at the EMBARC Youth Farm as we connect literature with nature and some animals that make their home at the Farm. We will gather in the garden at the picnic tables towards the back. Ms. Brittany will introduce and read her book, then Ranger Rachel will lead an interactive nature-centered activity.

Program leader: Your guide will be Ranger Rachel Roberts, the DeKalb County Park Naturalist at Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve.

Where to meet: Upon entering the front gate, turn left and park in front of the brown building - ranger headquarters. Then walk around it to enter the garden. Find Ranger Rachel at the picnic tables (1185 Rock Chapel Rd.)

What to bring: Wear comfortable footwear, dress for the weather, and bring a refillable water bottle. We will have some bug spray and sunscreen available.

Restrooms: The available bathroom is the portapotty located in the parking lot (professionally cleaned twice a week).

Recommended ages: This program content is designed for children and their parent/guardian, but all ages are welcome.

Dogs: This program is NOT appropriate for dogs, so please leave your pup at home.

Weather contingency: This program will be held in the greenhouse or under the covered pavilion if there is rain or other inclement weather.

Walking distance: Less than 100 yards.

Exposure: The garden is in full sun, but we will have umbrellas at each picnic table to help.
