About this Event
Monday, 9/23, 6-8 pm: Finding Balance in Journaling
The autumnal equinox is the time of perfect balance, and journaling can offer us a way to navigate fall’s dance of change and letting go, as well the dance of life, in order to find our own equilibrium. Keeping a journal has been shown to boost mindfulness, memory, and communication skill, as well as a host of other benefits, from better sleep, a stronger immune system, more confidence, and a higher I.Q. For writers, writing in a journal is also a way to find what you should be writing about. This session will explore the various options for journaling and provide practice and strategies in incorporating writing a journal in your practice.
Bring your favorite writing tools, whether electronic or mechanical.
Paper and pens/pencils will be available as back up.
Bio: Ellen Higgins, Ph.D., author and writing instructor, has been teaching writing for over 30 years, including a Writing Workshop for the Bethlehem Central Schools Adult Ed program since 2007. She has also taught yoga/meditation and water safety and fitness classes.
