In partnership with Opolis , we are hosting a screening of The Vampires of New Orleans, the new independent docudrama from Atun-Shei Films.
When Brigitte Jackson's sister is found dead under mysterious circumstances on the streets of New Orleans, she starts her own investigation. Her auntie Saffron points her to Dr. Tom, a shadowy guide to the city's occult underbelly. He reveals that an unholy trinity of vampires has been preying on the downtrodden of New Orleans for centuries.
Writer and director Andrew Rakich spent years as a living historian and ghost tour guide in the French Quarter. The film mixes narrative horror with documentary and video essay to dig into the real legends behind the tourist kitsch, from the LaLaurie Mansion and the Casquette Girls to the Axeman of New Orleans.
Ticket sales go to support the film and venue. 10% of every ticket sale will support NFF in growing our film programming in downtown Norman.
