Film for All Screening of Samira's Dream (Ndota ya Samira)

Samira’s Dream is a documentary film tracing seven years of the life and aspirations of a young woman from Zanzibar, whose dream is to receive an education that will help open up opportunities for her. We follow Samira’s journey as she navigates the customs and expectations of local culture in pursuit of her dream.

There will be a post-film discussion with Nino Tropiano (director) in conversation with Gemma Creagh (Film Ireland). 

This will be followed by a session with musician Ger Griffin reading a short extract from folk singer Johnny Moynihan’s Zanzibar narrative and playing a few tunes.
