FILM CLUB. Russian stop-motion animation

Join us at 6:00 PM on April 12 for a special joint screening celebrating two pioneers of Russian stop-motion animation at the turn of the twentieth century: Ladislas Starevich and Aleksandr Shirayev. Their work differs greatly in both style and substance, but both artists share an important place in history as among the first to push the boundaries of artistic expression, often overlooked in popular anthologies of the history of animation.

The screenings will be accompanied with historical commentary from Gregory McEvoy. Tea and snacks are provided.

The participation fee is $10.
