About this Event
The video will be followed by an exploration of how archival sources were brought to life to recreate Petrosino's world.
About the project:
"My Name is Petrosino" is a documentary project by award-winning filmmaker Anthony Giacchino detailing the life of Lt. Joseph Petrosino, a pioneering Italian-American NYPD detective who fought the "Black Hand" in the early 1900s and is the only member of the NYPD to be killed in the line of duty while overseas. The project explores his 1909 M**der in Sicily and his legacy as a fearless, early organized crime fighter.
Presented by The Petrosino Association in conjunction with the Italian American Museum in celebration of the exhibit, "How Petrosino Paved The Way".
Ticket price includes admission to the Museum's current exhibitions, "How Petrosino Paved The Way: Italian Americans in Law Enforcement", "Sicilian Theater in Little Italy: The Return of the Manteo Puppets" and "Goodnight, Maria: A Tribute to all the women who worked tirelessly in the garment industry to live the American dream".
