CGS and Los Californianos welcome you to a field trip to visit the Moraga Adobe house in Orinda. This historic home of Joaquin Bernabé Moraga and his wife Librada Pachecho was built in 1841 and has been recently restored to much of its old glory and represents much of the 'rancho' history of California of its era. Inside the house are museum items of note showing the life of this family. It is the oldest of five surviving houses in Contra Costa County, and was part of the 13,326 acre "El Rancho Laguna de los Palos Colorados: granted in 1835. Parking space at the facility is limited, Contact host Keith Montgomery ([email protected]) for arrangements for car-pooling from convenient meeting places.
