Fibroid Awareness Special Lunch
(Monday, March 30, 2026):
PUSH AFRICA X Mercy Hospital is hosting a SPECIAL ADVOCACY LUNCH EVENT for 200 Women to mark International Women's Day, Focusing on Women’s Health, Empowerment, and Strengthening Fibroid Awareness under the theme "FIBROID NOT FEAR”
4 out of 5 women in the world are living with and enduring Fibrosis and this number is even more for women in Nigeria. 62% of women are not aware of treatment options available to manage this problem.
For women who do not already have Fibroids, statistics show that 70 - 80% of women will develop uterine fibroid before they turn 50 or in their life time hence alot of information needs to be put out there regarding this issue.
Most women who have fibrosis have a lot of wrong information and misconceptions - some believe their fibroid will go away after eating certain foods or drinking certain concoctions, some say it will go way if they stop eating carbs, some also say it will go away if the loose weight - all of these information are false.
This Event would host Dialogues featuring Medical Experts and Advocates to discuss the burden of Uterine Fibroids and Advance National Care for Women with Fibroids.
Expert Gynecologists and Fertility Specialists will present Medically proven options available to treat Fibroids. There will also be Conversations about how we can create a wider Awareness and Accelerate ACTION for a larger number of Women with Fibroids in Nigeria.
