Fibre Art Lampshade Workshop with Wendy Ann Stanger
Sunday 28 June
£70 + £10 materials (payable on the day)
Join Studio Artist Wendy Ann Stanger for an inspiring workshop where you’ll learn to create your own bespoke fibre art lampshade. Working with an array of natural plant fibres — including linen, cotton, nettle, rose and bamboo — Wendy Ann will guide you through techniques for blending textures, colours and botanical elements to design a unique piece that glows beautifully when lit.
You will explore how to press and dry flowers suitable for use in translucent fibre art, and a selection of pressed flowers will be available for you to incorporate into your design. Learn how to layer fibres for strength and light diffusion, arrange botanical motifs, and create harmonious compositions that come to life when the lamp is illuminated.
During the workshop, you will first create a small sample piece to practise techniques before moving on to your final handmade fibre art lampshade, ready to take home and enjoy.
Perfect for beginners, crafters, and anyone looking to create a functional artwork infused with natural beauty.
Please note the dried flowers used in this workshop are subject to availability and may not necessarily be daisies.
