Join us in Kirkby Stephen Parish Church to hear our wind and string sections showcase two masterpiece compositions.
Eight string soloists perform Felix Mendelssohn's exhilarating Octet for four violins, two violas and two cellos. Quintessentially Mendelssohnian melodic and harmonic structures feature in this wonderful work of the 19th century. Our wind and horn soloists perform another masterpiece, this time from the pen of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This work, originally written for evening performances outdoors, emulates the music of the Baroque era, producing music which is both sumptuous and exhilarating in equal measure.
