About this Event
Der Verzicht is the concept devised by the artistic directors Francesca Marra and Simone Azzoni.
The special guest at the seventh edition of the festival will be *Early Works 1964-1984* by Wim Wenders. The exhibition, exclusive to Italy, showcases shots captured in Algeria, England, Indonesia, Iceland, Australia, the United States, and Russia. The subjects are diverse: sweeping landscapes, glimpses of rural or urban everyday life, lyrical and melancholic views where the human element either fades or stands out strongly. The great director offers, in an indirect and non-programmatic way, a means of approaching his style and intuiting the vision that animates his gaze upon the world. Accompanying the exhibition, curated by Simone Azzoni, is the LazyDog edition catalogue.
The exhibition will be set up in the space of *Il Meccanico* at Via San Vitale 2b.

The 5 Projects Selected via Open Call:
Florence Cuschieri with “La Ronde des Hirondelles” curated by Luce Lebart and Francesco Biasi. A project that invites awareness of the diversity of narratives shaping today's migratory identities and the multiple stories that make up the fabric of exile.
Annamaria Belloni with “Riot” curated by Arianna Rinaldo Riot, started in 2020, is a work in progress that narrates the desire to escape from claustrophobic cities, balanced precariously between the wish to rediscover oneself and to lose oneself.
Emilia Martin with “I saw a tree bearing stones in the place of apples and pears” curated by Arianna Rinaldo The work explores forms, uses, and types of relics in the Catholic religious tradition.
Ilaria Sagaria with “Crisalidi” curated by Giusi Pasqualini Crisalidi tells of the remnants of childhood. Magic and existential fragility that seems impossible to retain.
Valentine Valette with “Ashes of the Arabian’s pearl” curated by Simone Azzoni and Francesca Marra.
"Ashes of the Arabian's Pearl" (2021-2023) focuses on the economic development and territorial planning of the Sultanate of Oman.
Il Meccanico Via San Vitale 2b
Francesca Dusini with “Švejk” curated by Francesca Marra The project captures small moments taken during the intervals between performances, rehearsals, and backstage, with a touch of irony and an unusual language for the genre of performance photography.
Galleria d'Arte Contemporanea in collaboration with Isolo17 Gallery
