About the Event

Help us bring the Moon Festival to life! 🌟

We’re inviting the community to come together to build and repair lanterns and decorations for our upcoming festival. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just looking to have some fun, all skill levels are welcome!


🎨 What to Expect:

  • Hands-on creative activities in a fun, relaxed space
  • Guidance in lantern and decoration making & repair from two local artists
  • Help out behind the scenes and see how the art comes together.
  • A great opportunity to connect with friends, neighbours, and fellow creatives!

Drop in anytime during the event. Let’s make something beautiful together and help light up the festival!



Details
  • Date: Monday, September 7th
  • Time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Late arrivals are welcome.
  • Location: Slocan Community Hall
  • Age: Family-friendly. Recommended for ages 14+. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.



Getting There
  • Slocan Community Hall is located in Slocan Park.
  • Slocan Community Hall is a one-minute walk from 29th Avenue SkyTrain Station and bus loop.
  • Bus numbers #16, 29, and 33 take you to 29th Avenue Station.
  • Limited street parking is available.
  • We recommend walking, taking the bus, riding your bike, or carpooling when possible.



Accessibility
  • Slocan Community Hall is an indoor space located in Slocan Park, and can be accessed from a partially paved and partially grassed pathway in the park, adjacent to 29th Ave; wheelchairs should be able to access both areas unless extensive rainfall occurs.
  • Chairs, washrooms, and a refrigerator are available on-site.
