About this Event
A different approach to gut health
Fermentation is both science and art but somewhere along the way, we’ve lost the art. We’re surrounded by modern wellness noise, yet often left feeling disconnected from food, from nature, and from each other.
These workshops offer something different.
Not another thing to add to your routine, but a space to slow down, work with your hands, and reconnect.
Why fermentation?
Fermentation wasn’t created for gut health, it was created for survival. Before fridges, it helped preserve food, reduce waste, and carry nourishment through the seasons.
As these practices faded, so too did parts of our connection to food, to land, and to each other. In a culture built on speed and convenience, fermentation becomes something quietly radical.
A way of rebuilding resilience - one jar at a time.
Working with the seasons
Alongside the lost art of fermenting, we’ve also lost a deeper understanding that we are cyclical, seasonal beings.
As women, this can be experienced through the menstrual cycle - but even without one, we are still shaped by cycles.
The seasons, the calendar year, our inner rhythms, and the life stages we move through all influence how we feel, what we need, and how we show up.
In these workshops, we’ll gently explore this.
Not as another thing to get right — but as a way to feel more connected to ourselves, each other, and the natural world we are part of.
What we’ll do together
This is a hands-on, shared experience — where learning happens through doing.
In each workshop, we will:
- Learn the fundamentals of fermentation (the science and the art)
- Make two seasonal ferments (usually a kraut and a chutney or dip)
- Spend time chopping, mixing and creating side by side
- Explore where we are in the seasonal cycle, while gently tuning into our own inner rhythms
You’ll leave with your own jars and the confidence to do it again at home.
What’s included
- A fermented drink on arrival
- Herbal teas throughout
- A mid-workshop snack (with something fermented, of course)
- Two (or more) jars of your own ferments to take home
After the workshop (optional)
For those who want to, we’ll take a gentle walk around Chorlton Water Park - a chance to chat, stretch our legs, and be in nature.
The details
- Small, intimate groups (maximum 9 people)
- Gathered around one table
- Hands in the bowl, learning together
Who’s hosting
I’m Rosie, a Nutritional Therapist with nearly a decade of experience.
I’ve stepped away from 1:1 work to create spaces like this - where we can slow down, use our hands, and share knowledge in a way that feels human again.
I run bi-monthly workshops in Chorlton, Manchester — including both mixed session (Feremntation for Gut Health) and women-only sessions (Fermentation and Female Seasons workshop).
