During this presentation, you will learn:
Local and national overdose statistics, including trends and the populations most affected
Community organizations and resources currently working to reduce overdoses
Medications used to reverse opioid overdoses, including how they work and how they are administered
Where to obtain free overdose-reversal medication and how to access these resources locally
Step-by-step instructions on how to recognize an overdose and use reversal medication, and why it is critical to act immediately and call 911

This presentation is designed for community members, families, caregivers, and anyone who wants to be prepared to respond in an emergency.

SPEAKER: W. Scott Burns has been a member of the Santa Barbara Sunrise Rotary Club for over 35 years, and club president in 2006/07.
