Bernadette's bio
Born and bred in Melbourne, Bernadette had an early start in music and began singing professionally at the age of only six. Touring with international artists from six to 12 years old, Bernadette is heavily influenced by French and Italian artists of the 1960's such as Françoise Hardy, Dalida and Mina.
In 2017 Bernadette began to entrench herself in the Melbourne music scene and started singing again and songwriting. This resulted in the release of a critically acclaimed Soul EP ‘Rebounding’ which was co-written and produced by Ryan Ritchie (True Live, The Raah Project). Radio stations across the country and internationally played Bernadette’s songs which translated into a loyal following around the world and her participation in numerous gigs and festivals. The first single off this EP, 'Everybody Knows' is soon to be featured in a new series on Paramount +.
Almost four years ago, Bernadette met the creative genius Joshua Moriarty (Telenova, Miami Horror, All The Colours) who agreed to co-write and produce Bernadette’s debut Album. Bernadette always knew that she wanted to make an Indie Rock album, having been inspired by her favourite 1960’s artists The Beatles, George Harrison, The Doors, The Kinks, The Zombies, The Animals, Janis Joplin, The Mamas and The Papas, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Electric Light Orchestra, The Beach Boys, Dusty Springfield and her modern-day idols the Arctic Monkeys, Tempesst, Beach House, Lana del Rey, Florence and The Machine, The Vaccines, Babyshambles, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis, PJ Harvey, Queens of The Stone Age, Chrissie Hynde and Alexandra Savior. A surrealist at heart, Bernadette’s new music has been described as ‘Avant-Indie Alt Rock on the dreamscape’ due to the dreamlike quality of her lyrics and melodies. With the new Album, Bernadette also aspires to create surreal visual vignettes in the form of three music videos to metaphorically paint the picture of the songs’ transcendent meanings. Her debut Album is expected to be released in 2025.
Bernadette has achieved so much in the eight years she has been back in the music scene. Highlights of Bernadette’s career thus far include playing support to members of The Rolling Stones and being chosen to headline Festivals such as the St Kilda Festival and the Queenscliff Music Festival. One of Bernadette’s songs made it to the Top 30 of the Australian Songwriters Association Songwriting Contest in 2020 and her recent single 'Another View from Dystopia' debuted at #5 on the AMRAP Metro Charts in its very first week.
Lunic's bio
Lunic is a female artist creating alternative folk sounds in Naarm/Melbourne. At her core, she is a lover of melancholy music that reaches the soul. In her songwriting, Lunic taps into her vulnerable side, exploring themes of innocence, tenderness, and self-growth. Drawing inspiration from Julia Jacklin, Billie Marten, and Leith Ross, Lunic is known for her dreamy vocals, gentle production, and heartfelt lyrics. This year, Lunic is most delighted to share her debut EP with the world.
Tomalia's bio
Prepare to be enthralled by Melbournian/Naarm pianist turned singer-songwriter Tomalia (Olivia Tomada). The homegrown, theatrical art-pop artist plays around with her sassy, sexy, and spooky sound. Using attitude and eerie comedy, Tomalia sings about being a young modern woman and explores the ugly side of love.
After selling out her debut gig at the Wesley Anne Band Room in November 2022, Tomalia’s unsettling and entertaining performance style draws audiences in. She dives right into her femininity as she performs around Melbourne with her female/non-binary band to put on unique and unforgettable shows.
Her classical piano background dripping in jazz harmony along with inspiration from the fierce Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, and Tim Minchon creates Tomalia’s unique sound.
You wouldn't want to miss her chaos or heat, so you best be paying attention... Or else **
