In this fast-paced workshop, Felt Maker, Trish Omeara of Wormit Woolies, will guide you through the ancient art of wet felting drawing on ideas and inspirations of Central/east Asian felt making techniques.
In the first hour we will make pre felt, followed by design ideas. We will then use the homemade pre felt along with commercial pre felt to create a felt collage. This can be your own abstract design or using ideas and symbols in traditional Asian felt making. The final step will be to felt all of the pieces together to create a bespoke piece of felt art!
All materials to make your creations will be provided except for scissors, towels and notepad.
Each participant will be required to bring along a sharp pair of scissors and a couple of towels for rolling your felt in. I would also encourage you to bring along a note pad and pen for notes and design ideas.
