⚠️ 🌟 ARTIST BIO — ISBERT “VIVIO” RAMOS MEDIACEJA
‼️ A true pioneer of Cuban dance in Aotearoa, Isbert “Vivio” Ramos Mediaceja brings decades of world-class experience to every stage he steps onto.
Born and trained in Cuba, Vivio graduated from Havana’s prestigious National School of Arts, specialising in ballet, contemporary and folkloric dance. His talent took him around the world performing with elite dance companies before he made New Zealand his home in 2002.
Since then, Vivio has become one of NZ’s most influential Cuban dance educators. Through The Cuban Groove, he has taught thousands of students, trained teachers nationwide and helped shape the Cuban dance community from the ground up.
A multi-talented performer, Vivio also fronts the vibrant bands Ke lo Ke and Vivio & Friends, collaborating with some of the country’s finest Latin and jazz musicians. From festivals to film, competitions to local community events, he is known for his infectious energy, musicality and absolute dedication to sharing the joy of Cuban culture.
Whether on stage, in class, or on the dance floor, Vivio embodies passion, authenticity, and the true spirit of Cuba
