Join Kat and friends for some fun and energetic swing dance classes! Sunday February 8th and 22nd, we will be teaching Collegiate Shag on the second floor of Climb Cleveland.
Schedule and prerequisites are as follows:
2:00–3:00 PM — Beginner: No prior experience needed. This class is ideal for dancers who are brand new to Collegiate Shag, as well as those who want to solidify or refresh their basics.
3:15–4:15 PM — Beginnermediate: This class is ideal for dancers who are already comfortable with the 6-count basic, familiar with closed, open, and side-by-side positions, and have some foundational vocabulary such as Collegiate Kicks, tuck turns, and pass-bys. Attendees should feel comfortable dancing at tempos of at least ~170 bpm.
You’re welcome to join us for either class or stay for both!
We’re passionate about making this historic dance accessible to everyone, so classes are pay-as-you-can. We recommend a minimum donation of $10, but if funds are tight, don’t worry, your presence is what matters most!
Note: If this is your first time at Climb Cleveland, please arrive a few minutes early to check in and sign a waiver at the front desk.
