Ben MacConnell, Great Plains Coordinator at the Direct Action & Research Training (DART) Center, will lead a discussion about “The Power of People to Impact the Common Good” at the K-State Salina College Center Conference Room on February 11! The community is welcome to enjoy this conversation.
The discussion will focus on how change doesn’t start with institutions—it starts with people. Across our communities, the solutions to housing insecurity, gaps in health and mental health care, substance abuse, and over-incarceration already exist—what’s missing is the public will.
Join us for a dynamic conversation to explore how collective action, shared purpose, and people-powered organizing can turn hope into momentum and momentum into lasting change. Let’s imagine what’s possible—and learn how everyday people can move the common good forward, together.
MacConnell has spent 25 years in the DART Network in a variety of roles, most recently serving in Kansas and Nebraska. More information is at our website: https://www.salina.k-state.edu/about/visitor-information/civic-lecture/.
