About this Event
Bulaklakan: A Senior Pottery Showcase 🌸
In the Philippines, May is the month of flowers—a time of vibrant celebration and the beloved tradition of Flores de Mayo. This year, the seniors of the Filipino Community of Seattle are bringing this tradition to life through the timeless art of pottery.
“Bulaklakan” (meaning "place of flowers") features a stunning collection of handcrafted clay blossoms. Rather than gathering fresh flowers, our senior artists have used their hands and imagination to shape delicate, enduring petals that reflect a lifetime of stories, patience, and skill.
This showcase is more than an art display; it is a testament to the enduring spirit of our community. By transforming clay into eternal blooms, these artists remind us that creativity has no age and that beauty can be found in every stage of life.
Join us at the Tanggapan Gallery to celebrate this beautiful intersection of culture, memory, and legacy.
📍 Location: Tanggapan Gallery, Filipino Community Center
🎟️ Admission: Free and open to the public
