An afternoon at the studio — fresh tortillas, a full taco bar, and the kind of cooking you remember.
On Sunday, June 21 — Father's Day itself — I'm opening my Minneapolis studio for a hands-on Homemade Tortillas & Taco Bar Masterclass. Three hours, 8 seats, all levels welcome.
Here's what the afternoon looks like:
You'll press your own tortillas from Masienda's heirloom corn masa — blue, yellow, red, and white — and cook them fresh on the comal. From there, we build the taco bar together: crispy fish tacos with roasted tomatillo salsa, slow-cooked pork shoulder with mango salsa, charred cauliflower with romesco. We'll grind guacamole in the molcajete, lay out a spread of fresh and roasted salsas, and finish with cucumber-jalapeño paletas.
The frame: it's Father's Day. This isn't a "learn to cook for Dad" class. It's a class Dad attends — an afternoon spent cooking side by side, and going home with the kind of story you tell later.
