After selling out two nights at both Christchurch Town Hall and Auckland Town Hall, Fat Freddy’s Drop have added extra shows in each city to their Based On A True Story 21st Anniversary Tour next May.
Freddy's have now added a third Christchurch performance at the Town Hall on Monday 11 May, and to meet demand in Auckland, the band is moving from the Town Hall to the iconic Civic on Sunday 17 May to perform a third show in the city of sails. This takes the nationwide tour to eight dates.
Freddy's hometown show at Michael Fowler Centre on Saturday 2 May is also sold out, with final tickets remaining for Friday 1 May.

Doing it for the love of music, the tour is a celebration of 21 years since the release of the band’s ground-breaking debut album, Based On A True Story. It will also be their first time performing since the sudden death of founding band member Chris ‘MU’ Faiumu. Lead singer Dallas Tamaira says, “It’s important for us to honour the intentions we had with MU and playing this album live is part of that.”
