About this Event
FASD & the Justice System
Individuals with FASD frequently come into contact with many areas of the justice system: as victims of crime, as witnesses, as individuals in conflict with the law, and in family and civil law matters. To improve understanding and support for people with FASD we invite you to join us in learning about the Lakeland Centre for FASD and its work in providing information and resources to understand the brain and the underlying causes of many of the behavioral symptoms of FASD; we will discuss navigating the justice system for persons diagnosed with FASD and their supporters.
Attendees will learn
• practical strategies and resources they can use when supporting an individual with FASD;
• what supports are available for those navigating the justice system; and
• how they can refer people to the Lakeland Centre for FASD , what services are offered, and how agencies can work together to provide optimum support
If the tickets are sold out, you can join the waitlist or email [email protected] to be added to our email list for the webinar link. The session will be held online through Zoom, and the login details will be emailed to the registrants 2 days before the session.
