FARM WORKS: "Guide & Grow" Youth Art Workshop (ages 10-15)

Guide & Grow: Nature Scrapbooks & Botanical Collage

With artists/educators Darrian Nosworthy and Areli Castillo, students will take a slow, observational walk through the farm to collect small natural objects, sketch plants, and take inspiration from what they see. They’ll then create a mixed-media collage using found objects, pressed flowers, and hand-drawn botanical illustrations. Each student will build a personal nature scrapbook page that blends art and observation, rooted in the ecology of Edgemere Farm.

Edgemere Farm is a volunteer-run, zero-profit urban farm with a mission of education, food justice, and providing agricultural, musical, and cultural programming to the historically underserved and environmentally disadvantaged neighborhood of Edgemere, Queens, and the Rockaway Peninsula at large.
