FARGO: Expedition: Greenland A humanities + leadership + adventure event

Expedition: Greenland is a statewide humanities, leadership, and adventure film series presented by The Study, bringing this remarkable documentary experience to four communities across North Dakota.

Join us in Fargo for a screening of Expedition: Greenland (2025) followed by a live conversation and audience Q&A with expedition member Dr. Jon Solberg.

The documentary tells the story of the first successful vehicle crossing of Greenland's ice sheet from south to north—a groundbreaking 21-day, 1,400-mile expedition through one of the world's most challenging environments. Filmed by director Clay Croft, the film follows seven explorers as they navigate endless ice, severe weather, equipment failures, and the leadership challenges that come with relying completely on one another.

More than an adventure documentary, the film explores resilience, teamwork, trust, and the decisions people make when facing extraordinary circumstances.

After the screening, Dr. Solberg will share personal stories from the expedition and reflect on leadership, perseverance, risk, and collaboration. The conversation will conclude with an audience Q&A moderated by Dr. Ann Burnett.
