Family Volunteering Day @ Barnsbury Wood Nature Reserve
About this Event
Join HandsOn London, in collaboration with Islington's Nature Conservation Team, for a special, family-friendly volunteering day at Barnsbury Wood Nature Reserve.
This is a rare opportunity to step inside London’s smallest nature reserve, a hidden green gem that is normally closed to the public. The whole family can discover this unique woodland while learning about conservation and local wildlife.
Volunteers will get hands-on with a variety of conservation activities, which may include:
- Removing invasive plants to support native species
- Clearing paths and improving access routes
- Creating and maintaining habitats for birds, insects and small mammals
- Litter picking and general site care
