FAMILY LAW 101
About this Event
Navigating family law can feel overwhelming, especially during times of change. Join us for Family Law 101, a free legal education workshop presented in partnership with Calgary Legal Guidance (CLG).
This session will provide an overview of key family law topics and help participants better understand their rights, responsibilities, and available supports.
Topics will include:
- Family Law Act, Divorce Act, Family Property Act, Protection Against Family Violence Act, and Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act
- Family violence and family law
- Types of family relationships recognized under the law
- Children and parenting
- Separation and divorce
- Spousal, partner, and child support
- Calgary Legal Guidance's Family Law Program and available resources
The presentation will be delivered by a family law professional from Calgary Legal Guidance and will include a 15-minute question-and-answer period. Please note that the workshop is intended to provide general legal information only and not legal advice.
