Family Camp Out!
About this Event
Join ecobirmingham and Birmingham Settlement on their very first family overnight camp at the fantastic Nature & Wellbeing Centre by the Edgbaston Reservoir.
Experience nature like never before at various times of the day, joining a nocturnal walk, taking part in fun games and activities, exploring the site, relaxing with mindfulness exercises and waking up with the dawn chorus.
When?
From 4pm on Wednesday 22nd July through to 10am on Thursday 23rd July.
Where?
The Birmingham Settlement Nature & Wellbeing Centre, 79 Selwyn Road, Edgbaston Reservoir, Birmingham, B16 0SL
Activities include:
- Put up your tent and settle in! (Help on hand for those new to camping!)
- Join a nocturnal walk of the Reservoir
- Fun family games and crafts
- Relaxing with family mindfulness and waking up with the dawn chorus
- Explore the overnight moth trap and wildlife cam to see who visitited while we were sleeping!
- Healthy, vegetarian meals (evening and breakfast) cooked together on the campfire
All activities will be supported by experienced, DBS-checked and first aid-trained practitioners.
This event is aimed at families that are new to camping – we can provide tents (although part of the experience is putting them up!), sleeping bags, dinner and breakfast.
The Camp Out is for children under 16 accompanied by adults only. There is no minimum age so the whole family can take part. Children must be supervised by their grown-up at all times.
There are washing facilities and toilets on site (no showers).
All ticket types are pay-what-you-can but we ask for a minimum donation of £5 per family. An unfunded place on the overnight camp would cost a minimum of £89 per family, but we want families to feel comfortable paying what they can afford whilst also valuing the efforts put into these sessions.
Please book one ticket per family and let us know how many in your family will attend as well as dietary requirement for each family member.
