Familia Torres Wine Tasting w/ Toby Hooker

Torres, now run by their fifth generation, is very much the “First Family” of Spanish wines, and this tasting will feature some of their most important offerings, including a pair of their legendary Mas la Plana Cabernets…the wine that put both Torres and Spanish wine in general on the world wine map when it won the famous Gault-Millau “Wine Olympiad” in Paris in 1979.

Beating out Chateau Latour and other Bordeaux First Growths, this did for top Spanish wines what the 1976 “Judgment of Paris” did for Napa.

We will also try two vintages of their remarkable “Secret del Priorat,” as well as their Celeste Verdejo, Paso Bruxas Albarino and Gran Coronas Cabernet (“little brother” to the Mas la Plana).
