Join Sacramento's sweetest community celebration at McKinley Park! This family-friendly dessert picnic brings together local bakers and dessert lovers for an unforgettable afternoon of treats and community connection.

How It Works

Think of it as a dessert potluck! You bring a homemade or local baker-made dessert to share, and in return you get a box to fill with everyone else's amazing creations.

Two ways to participate:

Option 1: Bring a dessert (recommended!)

• Drop off your dessert between 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM
• Enjoy the dessert social starting at 12:00 PM
• Get early access to all the treats!

Option 2: No dessert, no entry before 1:30PM

• Join us at 1:30 PM (1.5 hours after dessert contributors start)
• Get a box and enjoy whatever desserts are still available
• First come, first served basis

What's Provided

• Boxes, utensils, and napkins
• Coffee and beverages available for purchase

Dessert Guidelines

• Theme: Fall and/or Halloween themed desserts encouraged - but all desserts welcomed!
• Quality: Homemade treats or items purchased from local cottage bakers/small businesses strongly encouraged
• Serving Size: 12-24 servings recommended
• Special Utensils: Bring your own cutting knives or special serving spoons if needed (plastic only for safety)
• What NOT to bring: Plates or containers for people to take desserts - this encourages over-taking and leaves less for others

Important Policies

• Outside boxes: Absolutely prohibited - anyone discovered with outside boxes will be asked to leave
• Dogs: Park is dog-friendly, but dogs must be kept away from dessert tables and food display areas
• Weather: Event will be cancelled in case of rain or poor weather conditions

Supporting Our Community

This event is coordinated entirely by volunteer time. To help cover basic costs and continue bringing events like these to Sacramento, suggested donations of $8-12 are greatly appreciated.
