Wilson Environmental Services is hosting a Fall Recycling Drive on Saturday, October 17, from 8 a.m. to noon at 1501 Ward Blvd., in the old Roses/K&W parking lot.
The event will offer several ways to clear out unwanted items and get answers to your recycling questions:
General Recycling Collection — Bring items you're unsure how to recycle, and Environmental Services staff can help determine whether they can be collected or where you can take them. This is a great opportunity to learn more about recycling options in Wilson.
Electronics Recycling — Bring eligible unwanted and intact (nothing shattered or in pieces) electronics for recycling.
Shred Event — Safely dispose of unwanted documents and sensitive papers. Please remove staples or binding that cannot shred.
Have batteries, plastic bags, cardboard, glass or another item you're not sure about? Bring it along. Staff can help point you in the right direction. Some items, such as plastic bags, can be recycled at participating grocery stores, while batteries may be accepted at retailers such as Staples and Best Buy.
