In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn simple macrame knots to create a beautiful boho-inspired wall hanging. Using a variety of cords, ribbons, lace, and braids, you'll design a textured, one-of-a-kind piece to hang from a wooden dowel. Perfect for adding warmth and style to your home this autumn.
What You'll Make:
Each participant will create one macrame wall hanging, approximately 12–18 inches wide, featuring a mix of cords, braids, ribbons, and optional decorative accents like wooden beads or dried botanicals. Choose from a palette of warm fall colors to match your personal style.

Info: A warm welcome to Artsome and an introduction to the macrame project. We'll show finished examples, explain the basic knots, and distribute all materials (wooden dowel, cords, ribbons, beads, and scissors).

Selecting & Cutting Your Cords
Info: Participants will choose from a variety of cords, ribbons, and braids in warm fall tones. We'll guide you on how to measure and cut your cords to the correct lengths for your desired wall hanging design.

Attaching Cords to the Dowel
Info: Participants will learn the lark's head knot to attach their cords to the wooden dowel. We'll discuss cord placement, spacing, and how to plan the overall design.

Basic Knots Practice
Info: We'll guide everyone through the main knots used in this project. Participants will practice and decide how they want to use them on the main piece.

Building the Wall Hanging
Info: Participants will work row by row, building their wall hanging using the knots they've just learned. We'll be available for one-on-one guidance, troubleshooting, and design advice. This is also the time to incorporate ribbons, braids, and wooden beads.

Finishing Touches
Info: We'll help participants trim the bottom of their cords into a clean edge or decorative shape (chevron, angled, or straight). Final adjustments and securing loose ends will also be covered.
