Carve, print, and create your own fall-inspired tote bag!
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the art of block printing on fabric. Using soft carving blocks, you'll design and carve your own autumn-themed stamp, then print it onto a high-quality tote bag. The result is a functional, reusable bag that showcases your unique style perfect for farmers' markets, grocery runs, or gifting.
What You'll Make:
Each participant will print one cotton tote bag with their own hand-carved design. Choose from fall motifs like pumpkins, leaves, acorns, or mushrooms or create an original pattern of your own.

Ticket Information:
This event is open to adults and children ages 8 and up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult or a responsible adult chaperone.

Info: A warm welcome to Artsome and an introduction to block printing. We'll show finished examples, explain the carving and printing process, and distribute all materials (tote bags, carving blocks, tools, and ink).

Designing Your Stamp
Info: Participants will sketch their fall-themed design on paper before transferring it to the carving block. We'll offer design tips and inspiration using seasonal motifs like leaves, pumpkins, acorns, or mushrooms.

Info: Using soft carving tools, participants will carefully carve their design into the block. We'll guide everyone on safe carving techniques and offer troubleshooting as needed.

Info: Before printing on the tote bag, participants will make test prints on practice paper to see how their design looks. We'll help with any adjustments or touch-ups to ensure the final print is just right.

Info: Participants will apply fabric paint to their carved block and print their design onto their cotton tote bag. We'll cover proper pressure and technique for a clean, even print.

Drying, Finishing & Wrap-Up
Info: We'll set the paint using a dryer (time permitting), and share care instructions for washing and maintaining the printed bag. We'll also admire everyone's creations, answer questions, and share information about future classes, private parties, and craft kits. Feel free to stay after to chat and browse!
