L.I.F.E. Houston bridges the gap in infant hunger by providing access to formula, advocating for infants, and offering nutritional education—all with the goal of improving the quality of life for our youngest community members. The first year of life is a critical window for healthy brain, emotional, and physical development, and access to safe, nutritious food during this time lays the foundation for future success in education, health, and overall well-being.

However, food insecurity threatens these outcomes, creating deep disparities—particularly among marginalized communities and families with children. Infants in food-insecure households face higher risks of health complications, limited cognitive growth,
and lower academic achievement later in life.
