Fall CAD Night Classes — AutoCAD, Revit 3D & SolidWorks

THREE SEPARATE CLASSES. PICK ONE, OR TAKE MORE THAN ONE.

This event listing covers three different classes that all happen to meet on Tuesday evenings this fall at Ventura Adult and Career Education. They are not a bundle and they are not a sequence — each one is its own ten-week class, with its own enrollment and its own $135 fee.

When you check out, choose the ticket for the class you want. Taking two classes? Buy two tickets, one for each.

All three are built for people with jobs: 30 hours of coursework, roughly three hours a week over ten weeks, completed online at your own pace or in the Tuesday evening lab from 6 to 9 pm. No previous experience is necessary for any of them, and intermediate and advanced users pick up where they left off.

CLASS 1 — AUTOCAD · $135

Practical, hands-on 2D and 3D drafting, taught by putting you in the software from the first session. Enrollment includes a free one-year, fully licensed student version of AutoCAD directly from Autodesk.

Textbook required: AutoCAD 2026 Instructor — Print ISBN 978-1-63057-725-4, eBook ISBN 978-1-63056-967-9. The textbook is not included in the cost of the class.

Mac users: AutoCAD has a Mac-compatible version, so you can work on a Mac at home.

Tuesday lab: optional. You may complete everything online instead.

CLASS 2 — REVIT 3D DESIGN · $135

The 3D modeling tool architecture and construction teams actually build in. Enrollment includes a free one-year, fully licensed student version of Revit directly from Autodesk.

Textbook required: Revit 2024 for Architecture: No Experience Required — Print ISBN 978-1-394-19329-5, eBook ISBN 978-1-394-19331-8. Available from online retailers or directly from Wiley. The textbook is not included in the cost of the class.

Windows only: Revit does not run on a Mac. Use the classroom computers if you do not have a Windows machine.

Tuesday lab: in-person lab classes meet Tuesdays.

CLASS 3 — SOLIDWORKS · $135

3D design for engineering and manufacturing, taught through tutorial exercises and projects built in the software itself. Enrollment includes a free one-year, fully licensed student version from Dassault Systèmes.

No textbook required for the introductory class. Textbooks are required for the Intermediate and Advanced courses and are not included in the cost of the class.

Windows only: SolidWorks does not run on a Mac. Use the classroom computers if you do not have a Windows machine.

Previous CAD experience is recommended but not required.

Tuesday lab: optional. You may complete everything online instead.

WHAT ALL THREE SHARE

Schedule: September 22 to December 8, 2026. Tuesdays, 6:00 to 9:00 pm. No class October 27 or November 24.

Price: $135 per class — the $125 session fee plus the $10 annual registration fee, paid together right here. Each class is priced separately; two classes is $270.

What you need: nothing but yourself, if you do your coursework in the Tuesday evening lab. The classroom is fully equipped with computers and wi-fi, so no personal computer is required.

To work from home you will need your own computer and an internet connection. AutoCAD has a Mac-compatible version. Revit and SolidWorks run only on Windows-based machines — if you do not have a Windows PC, plan on using the classroom computers for those two.

Textbooks are not included in the cost of any class.

VACE provides access to the Canvas Learning Website for course materials, assignments, and quizzes.

HOW TO REGISTER

Pay for your class here. That is the whole sign-up step — no trip to the office beforehand, and your seat is held the moment payment goes through.

Bring your confirmation to the first class meeting, where you will fill out your enrollment paperwork before the session starts. Please arrive about fifteen minutes early on the first night to give yourself time.
