An evening of Arabic music, warm drinks, and shared stories in a little hidden gem on Granville Island.
Nestled inside the Kids Market, Soumak Boutique is a small, cozy space surrounded by kilim rugs, handmade treasures, and glowing mosaic lamps. With very limited seating, this gathering offers a chance to experience the music up close.
Join Rasha Youssef and qanun player Ravshan Tukhtamishev for Fairouziyat beloved Arabic songs of Fairouz reimagined through voice, qanun, and live rhythm.
Fairouz has long been Rasha’s singing idol and inspiration. Together, Rasha and Ravshan will take you through songs of joy, love, longing, and memories of home. Between songs, Rasha will share their meanings and introduce the maqamat, the melodic traditions that give Arabic music its expressive character.
You don’t need to speak Arabic to enjoy the evening. Come to listen, discover, and sing along whenever you feel inspired.
Turkish coffee prepared on hot sand and tea are included.
