The Fairfield Horseshoe is an absolute classic Lake District walk, rewarding us with spectacular views overlooking much of the area. This walk will take us to the top of these hills: Nab Scar, Low Pike, High Pike (Scandale), Heron Pike North Top, Heron Pike (Rydal), Hart Crag, Great Rigg, Fairfield, and Dove Crag. This includes 8 Wainwrights!!
This is a 10 mile + (16.4km) route, with a lot of ups and downs on both ridges. These undulations can really take their toll, with a total climb of 3,543ft (1080m)!
The route is mostly on good, clear paths, with a little scrambling over rocks required occasionally.
This walk is best for fit, strong walkers, however, please rest assured that our Grand Scale Trails are led by a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader, who will support you and encourage you along the way. We will have plenty of rest breaks and walk as a group at all times.
You will be able to experience a true mountain trail with an experienced guide, enjoy spectacular views, and ultimately feel an incredible sense of achievement.
Tickets cost £45 per person (£85 for two people) and include:
A fully guided walk with a professional, experienced and knowledgeable Mountain Leader,
A supportive, small-group atmosphere (max. 8 participants per leader),
Full details of what to wear / bring and where to meet,
An Abigail's Trails Grand Scale Trails Certificate upon completion.

Well behaved, agile dogs are welcome, however there will be livestock around and there are numerous ladder stiles which they will need to be able to get over.
Please arrange your own transport and accommodation, if required. However, if you would like me to help arrange car pooling, this will be an option, also. We recommend having insurance to cover, at a minimum: cancellation, curtailment and injury.
