The Summer Milky way has now returned to our northern skies. The moon will not be a problem for the next two weeks so on Saturday 18th April 2026 weekend (weather permitting) we'll meet in the car park at the north end of Thirlmere at 11pm to make the short but steep walk up to the view point on Raven crag to see the Milky way rise over Helvellyn in the south East. We can then either hang around until sunrise or whatever everyone wants to do.Remember to bring;
Charged and spare batteries
Camera and the fastest lens you have
Sturdy Tripod
Warm and Waterproof clothes
Snacks - Lots of them
Warm Drinks
