About this Event
Factors That Shape Plant Diseases
Understanding plant diseases starts with the disease triangle—pathogen, host, and environment. This class will explore how environmental conditions like humidity, temperature, and leaf wetness influence disease development, as well as how cultural practices such as watering, plant spacing, and airflow can either reduce or exacerbate disease issues. Rather than seeing pathogens as the enemy, we’ll focus on how plant health and proper care are key to minimizing disease impact. Attendees will leave with practical, science-backed strategies for preventing and managing plant diseases naturally.
This class will take place at 10AM at the Elwood Park Farm, Garden, and Craft Festival on March 15th at Elwood Park Baptist Church. The class is free, but donations are accepted at your discretion.
