Fabulous Fall Finds at Heart Comonos

Are you looking to reduce your dependance on fast fashion trends, clear space in your closet, and sustainably mend your favourite clothes instead of constantly buying more? Are you getting ready for back-to-school season and looking to minimize costs?

Join Heart Comonos on August 29th to find clean and lightly used clothing, shoes, toys and games for all ages at our Fabulous Fall Finds event! In continuation of our 2026 Circular Economy programs, Heart Comonos will be hosting a swap and exchange event, funded by the Peel Region Circular Economy Initiative Fund, at our 67 Hillcrest Ave community hub location.

If you find items that you want to add embroidery too, or if you don’t find anything but want to mend something from home, Arwen will be hosting a mending table during the event!

The Region of Peel is also supporting the event with the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) team to donate items like paint, WD40, antifreeze, drain cleaner, varnish, etc., to give to community members free of charge! Please note, that items on offer depend on supply, item availability is not gaurenteed. The Peel Region HHW team is not receiving donated items, they are offering lightly used HHW items to reduce costs for community members and to minimize waste.

The City of Mississauga will be supporting the event with light refreshments, and their Environmental Outreach team will join us with fun games and prizes to test our environmental knowledge!

Let’s Get Together! will also be supporting the event with their E-recycling team available on site for community members to drop off unwanted or broken electronic items for recycling.

Donations Policy

All donated items must be:

1) CLEAN

2) In good condition (no rips, tears, holes, stains, etc.)

3) Appropriate for all ages

4) Inspected by HC staff or volunteers before accepting. Note: accepting donations will depend on the judgement of inspectors.

When/where to donate: 67 Hillcrest Ave, Saturdays from 10am-12pm.

Donations on the day of the event are welcome.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

 Be kind. When in doubt, golden-rule it!

 Bring 10 items or fewer. Please respect our item limit.

 Check your items. No holes, stains, missing parts, or broken pieces. Items should be clean, folded, and ready to be used.

 Use scent-free soap. Wash items before bringing them.

 Don’t hoard. Instead of carrying things you may or may not like with you, try things on as you go so others can browse items you decide not to keep.

 Take to wear, not to sell. Please only take what you know you (or someone you know) will actually use.

DO NOT BRING:

Jewelry, Undergarments, Swimwear, Luggage, Towels, Bedding Sheets, Pillow, Bags

DO BRING:

Hats, Backpacks, Purses, Shoes, T-Shirts, Long Sleeve Shirts, Sweaters, Pants, Culturally Specific Clothes, Dresses, Jackets/Coats, Toys, Board Games, Video Games.

When you attend this event, you will enter an area where photography, and/or video recording may occur, forour ownpromotional purposes.
