The exhibition brings together a wide range of organisations offering information, advice, equipment and support for blind and partially sighted people. Whether you're looking for the latest assistive technology, practical daily living equipment, local support services or simply want to discover what's available, you'll find plenty to explore..
Throughout the day you'll have the opportunity to:
- Meet specialist exhibitors from across the sight loss sector.
- Try the latest assistive technology and equipment.
- Learn about local services, activities and support.
- Speak to experts and ask questions.
- Meet other people affected by sight loss.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be a programme of free talks during the day.

10.30am – What Digital Technology Can Do For You
Discover how smartphones, tablets and other digital technology can make everyday life easier if you are blind or partially sighted. Learn about built-in accessibility features, helpful apps and the digital skills support available across Gloucestershire.
11.45am – Ask the Expert: Karen Gennard
Experienced optometrist Karen Gennard will answer your questions about sight loss, explain common eye conditions, help dispel myths and discuss the support and treatments available.

Our Sight Loss Advisors will be available throughout the day to offer information and advice and answer any questions you may have. You can also find out more about our Digital Skills Support Service, meet members of our Lived Experience Advisor Panel, and discover ways to get involved and support our work.
Accessibility
The exhibition is fully accessible. Giant print and braille exhibition guides will be available. If you think you may need sighted guiding, please let us know in advance where possible so that we can make suitable arrangements.
Admission is free. We'd encourage you to register in advance, as it helps us plan for visitor numbers and provide the best possible experience.
Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

By car
From the B4063 take Down Hatherley Lane. Dowty Sports & Social is the next right turn after the Safran factory entrance.
By train
Both Cheltenham and Gloucester train stations are about a 10 minute taxi ride from Dowty Sports & Social.
By bus
Stagecoach run the Gold Service 94 between Cheltenham Bus Station and Gloucester Bus Station. Alight at the Safran factory on Cheltenham Road East. It is a short walk to Dowty Sports & Social Club.
We are arranging a shuttle service from the end of the lane to the front entrance. The lane is narrow and we encourage you to use the car shuttle service. Volunteers will be identifiable and available to assist.
