Overview:
In this seminar, participants will be given instruction on how to implement exposure and response prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD and hoarding. Other complimentary interventions to treat these conditions will also be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
- Appropriately assessing OCD;
- Familiarize oneself with the major subtypes of OCD;
- Implementation of ERP in treating OCD;
- Hierarchy Building within ERP
- Impacts of Hoarding to the individual and society;
- Appropriately assessing Hoarding;
- Cognitive interventions in treating Hoarding;
- Implementation of ERP in treating Hoarding;
- Coordination of care in the treatment of hoarding.
(If time allows, Cognitive strategies in treaing OCD will be covered)
Schedule (6.5 CEUs):
8:30am - 9:00am – Check In / Registration
9:00am -12:00pm - Seminar (Hoarding)
12:00pm -1:00pm – Lunch (attendees and speaker are on their own for lunch)
1:00pm - 5:00pm – Seminar (ERP for OCD)
**There will be a 15min break in the morning and afternoon
Meet the Speakers:
Emily Conery, MA, LPCC - is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with nine years of experience in the Psychology and Mental Health Services industry. A significant portion of her experience was at Rogers Behavioral Health where she served in the partial hospitalization program for mental health and addiction recovery, that included the treatment of OCD. She currently serves at the Nystrom and Associates clinic in Hugo, MN as an Outpatient Mental Health Therapist. Additionally, she is a subject matter expert for the treatment of OCD via exposure and response prevention (ERP).
Wade Crandall, MA, LPCC - currently serves as the Clinical Site Director of the Nystrom and Associates in Hugo, MN. Wade has 15 years of experience in the Psychology and Mental Health Services industry. Wade is skilled in the implementation of treatment for both OCD and Hoarding, including exposure and response prevention (ERP). He is a board approved supervisor and he served as the Vice President of the Minnesota Hoarding Task Force from 2018-2022. He has done a multitude of talks about hoarding and was featured on TV as an expert for a piece about hoarding by Jennifer Mayerle at WCCO.
