Whether you want to extend the life of your favorite jeans or add decorative stitches and patches to a jacket, this workshop will guide you through the art of visible mending.
Boro is a traditional Japanese technique that uses simple running stitches and layered patches to reinforce and repair garments. It’s a relaxed, intuitive style that celebrates the history and wear of your clothing—each mend becomes part of the story.
Sashiko, meaning “little stabs,” refers to the rhythmic in‑and‑out motion of the needle. Classic Sashiko features white thread on dark fabric in repeating, geometric patterns, creating both strength and beauty.
We’ll also explore darning and weaving, techniques used to visibly patch or replace worn or weakened areas on the surface of a garment.
Join us to give your well‑loved clothes new life and make them even more meaningful through the art of hand stitching.
